Terms of Service

1. Definitions

"Nexord", "the platform" or "we" means the Nexord application (Windows and browser versions), its servers, website and related services. "User" or "you" means anyone who downloads the app, accesses the platform or creates an account.

2. Acceptance

Using the platform in any way — including downloading or installing the app, opening Nexord in a browser, creating an account or signing in — means you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. They apply from your first use.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by law in your country to consent to digital services if higher.
• If you are a minor, you may only use the platform with your parent or guardian's knowledge and consent.
• You must not have been previously banned from the platform by us.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you register with (username and email) and for keeping your password secret. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
• You are responsible for all activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect a compromise; you can end device sessions under Settings → My Account.
• Accounts are personal: you may not sell, transfer or share them, or impersonate another person or organization.
• Automated accounts (bots) are only allowed through the platform's official tools (token-authenticated bots and webhooks) and in line with these Terms.

5. Content you post

• You keep ownership of your content (messages, files, images, audio and so on).
• By posting content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit and display it to the people you choose to share it with, solely as needed to operate the platform and its features.
• You alone are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or applicable law.
• Direct messages and private servers are not end-to-end encrypted. We may access content when necessary to investigate abuse or fraud or to comply with a lawful request.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the platform for any of the following (details in the Community Guidelines):

• Anything unlawful, including child exploitation (zero tolerance), threats, blackmail, exposing other people's private data, or encouraging violence, hatred or self-harm.
• Harassment, bullying, sexually explicit content in public spaces, scams and fraud.
• Distributing malware or phishing links, attempting to break into the platform or other people's accounts, or disrupting the service (denial-of-service attacks or exploiting vulnerabilities without permission).
• Spam, mass fake accounts, automated scraping of user data, or evading bans and restrictions.
• Abusing bots, webhooks or the API.

7. Servers and communities

Server owners and moderators are responsible for their server's rules and management within these Terms. Nexord is not responsible for what is posted inside servers, but we may remove content or servers that violate these Terms.

8. Suspension and deletion — Nexord's full right

• You may also delete your own account at any time under Settings → My Account → "Delete my account permanently". Deletion is final and cannot be undone, and you must first delete any servers you own.
• When an account is deleted, your data and messages are removed as described in the Privacy Policy. One-to-one direct-message conversations are deleted for both people.
• We recommend exporting your data under Settings → My Account before deleting; we cannot recover it afterwards.

9. Voice, video and screen sharing

Calls mostly run directly between participants (peer-to-peer) and may be relayed through servers when a direct connection is not possible. You are responsible for what you share by voice, video or screen, and must follow the laws on recording or filming others and obtain consent where required.

10. Third-party services

The platform relies on service providers (such as Cloudflare for network protection, routing and call relaying, and an email service for account messages). Features like "Watch Together" display YouTube videos and are subject to YouTube's terms and Google's policies. We do not control external links and sites and are not responsible for them.

11. Intellectual property

The app, the "Nexord" name, the design and the code belong to Nexord and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable personal licence to use the app under these Terms. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, decompile or reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows.

12. Updates and changes to the service

The app may update automatically. We may add, change or discontinue features, or impose usage limits (such as file sizes and message rates), at any time. The service is currently free; we may introduce paid features in future with notice.

13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

• The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee it will run uninterrupted, error-free or be completely secure.
• Outages may occur for maintenance or reasons beyond our control, and data may be lost. Keep copies of what matters to you using the data-export feature.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nexord is not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform, or from other users' content.
• You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from your breach of these Terms or from your content.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the last-updated date appears at the top. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the country where the platform's operator is established. The Arabic version prevails over any translation in case of conflict.
